They are true dungeon masters of story and character. #StrangerThings 3 is a testament to the Duffer brothers' creative vision.

Rare is a third chapter this compelling, this affecting, and this integral. It's also spectacularly gross and I loved it. It's not perfect (more on that later) but there are moments that are so good, so funny, so deeply heartfelt that it will leave you breathless. I think I can finally tell you that #StrangerThings is the show's best season yet. It looks fine overall, though you are certainly aware it’s CGI. I had a couple “oh, I probably shouldn’t be eating right now” moments. On the other hand, this felt like the goriest season yet, which, of course, I was very happy about. Some of the humor in #StrangerThings this season is very broad - too broad, especially early on. There are fun references and slight groaner ones, but the characters are still very likable and ground the series, which is a big part of its success.

So there’s not much more I can say, but I was so impressed with the way specific ships sailed & laughed out loud at least once per episode (mostly at DAD Hopper). And there are rats. Majority of the early reviews have positive things to say about the new season, which might just bring the Mind Flayer back in a more corporeal form, and a menacing voice too. And if you loved (obviously, there is no other way) Lucas' sharp-mouthed sister, Erica, Priah Ferguson will be back and getting some more screen time too! While we do terribly miss Sean Astin as Superhero Bob Newby (RIP), we will catch glimpses of him here and there.

Maya Hawke (the daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman) will be playing Robin, Steve's coworker and possible new partner-in-crime for him and Dustin. The kiddies are all grown up and having teenage troubles, and the grown ups have some normal problems instead of supernatural ones like searching for a lost kid in the Upside Down. Stranger Things 3 takes us a year ahead of the events of last season. And now that it is barely a couple of days away, the early reviews have begun pouring in, with some people calling Stranger Things 3 the best season of the show yet!
